Our Commitment to Quality

At Hoback Customs, we build more than just parts; we build an ecosystem of premium components designed to perform. We stand confidently behind the materials and craftsmanship of every item that leaves our shop. This policy is our promise to you that we will support our products and our community.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Every Hoback Customs product is backed by a lifetime warranty. We warrant our products to be free from defects in material and workmanship. If your product fails due to a manufacturing defect, we are committed to making it right.

We will evaluate the item and, at our discretion, either repair it or replace it with an identical or comparable product if the original is no longer available. Please note that due to the custom nature of our products, sometimes a direct replacement or repair to exactly how it was before is not feasible. All efforts will be made to do this, but sometimes it cannot be achieved.

Please note that our products are built to be used. Normal signs of wear and tear, such as cosmetic scratches, fading, or dings from use, are not covered by this warranty.

What's Not Covered

This warranty is designed to cover manufacturing defects, not issues arising from use, modification, or accidents. The warranty will be voided by any of the following:

  • Damage caused by improper installation, modification, or customization.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, or a failure to perform reasonable maintenance.
  • Damage caused by disassembly, tampering, or attempts to self-repair. (This does not mean you cannot disassemble the tools we make and clean them. This only covers if you mess it up doing so.)
  • Normal wear and tear, including cosmetic issues that do not affect performance.
  • Loss or theft of a product.

Legacy Products (Jake Hoback Knives)

Please note that Hoback Customs operates as a distinctly separate entity from the former business, Jake Hoback Knives.

Because Jake Hoback Knives is permanently closed and those specific product lines are no longer in production, we cannot offer warranty support, service, repairs, or replacement parts for any legacy Jake Hoback Knives products. The warranty and service policies detailed on this page apply strictly and exclusively to new products manufactured and sold by Hoback Customs.

However, we still care about the community that supported those early builds. If you have questions, feel free to email us at Jake@hobackcustoms.com. If we happen to have leftover parts kicking around or can point you in the right direction for a fix, we will try our best to help you out—but please understand this is offered strictly as a courtesy, with no guarantees.

Service & Repair Process

If you have an issue with a product that you believe is covered by our warranty, or if you need a repair for an issue not covered, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us First: Send an email to Jake@hobackcustoms.com with a clear description of the issue. Please include your full name, return address, and photos of the product if possible. We will get back to you to authorize the service.
  2. Prepare Your Product: Please ensure the item is clean before sending it in.
  3. Package Securely: Pack your item in a sturdy box with adequate padding to prevent damage during transit.
  4. Ship with Tracking: Ship your product to the address we provide in our email response. We strongly recommend you insure your package and use a shipping service with tracking. Hoback Customs is not responsible for items lost or damaged during shipping to our facility.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for evaluation and service to be completed.

All Sales Are Final

Due to the highly custom nature of our products, we do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges. All sales are final.

We are a small, custom shop dedicated to true craftsmanship. We are not a mass-market retailer, and we do not operate like one. We compete on authenticity, expertise, and community—not on volume or scale.

If you are unsure whether a product is right for you, or if you are looking for a "try before you buy" experience, we respectfully ask that you do not purchase from us. We pour our time, resources, and dedication into building gear for those who know exactly what they want and appreciate the custom process.
